Lincoln Sisson

My name is Lincoln Sisson. I worked as a patrolman in Providence, RI from 1995 to 1999 before moving to the Police Training Division and the Weapons Bureau. Over the course of my career, I have became a firearms instructor, joined the Providence Police S.W.A.T. Team, and became a nationally certified K-9 dog handler. Currently, I work as a K-9 handler at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Amica Mutual Pavilion in downtown Providence, where I help secure events as part of Homeland Security.

LINCOLN SISSON

In my capacity as a police officer/K-9 Handler/SWAT Team / Firearms Instructor/ and Bomb Squad Member, I was requested to secure many high security events throughout New England and beyond. I spent a week at Ground Zero in New York City in the aftermath of the 911 attacks to support NYPD being posted to provide security at several locations in the city including Ground Zero itself, and the Israeli Consulate, etc…

Over my career I was detailed to many high profile security events in a mutual aid capacity, including being assigned to the Secret Service for Presidential visits, being sent to the Kennedy Space Center, Florida to assist the NASA security force in two shuttle launches, also many high profile political events in the city of Providence RI and beyond. In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing I assisted Amtrak Police in Providence providing extra K-9 support at the Providence Station and Boston’s South Station during the week after that awful day. In the following year of 2014 myself and my bomb detection K-9 “Kyra” were requested to provide K-9 support for the Boston Police Department at the Boston marathon and was tasked with K-9 patrols at the finish line on Boylston Street, Boston. After which I was requested to return back to assist at the marathon by the Boston PD for the next two years. My K-9 team and I have also provided Port Protection K-9 bomb sweeps for LNG Tanker ships offloading product at the Port of Providence, K-9 security details at the R.I. Airshow Quonset Point R.I., and since 2003 provided mutual aid to the Bristol R.I. Police Department to conduct K-9 sweeps for the Bristol R.I. 4th of July concert series(two weeks) fireworks display, and the actual 4th of July parade. Was assigned to the R.I. State Bomb Squad to assist in public school bomb threats, and other professional buildings including the R.I. State House, and other work places. Provided K-9 public safety sweeps for in state colleges and university commencement exercises.

Over the years I was assigned many times to the Federal Department of Homeland Security to provide K-9 patrols for mass transit areas, such as Amtrak, Bonanza Bus Station, and Kennedy Plaza Providence RI.

Also over the years I participated in many SWAT/Trainings and actual operations to locate wanted and dangerous suspects or to secure any high profile events in the city of Providence RI.
