JOSEPH C. IANNUCCI

Joseph C. Iannucci is a highly experienced law enforcement professional with an extensive background in both the Providence Police Department and the United States Air Force. He has served as a Police Officer with the Providence Police Department since 1995, where his roles have included serving in the Homeland Security Bureau, providing executive protection for the Mayor, being a member of the Patrol Rifle and Marine Units, and working as a Field Training Officer. Prior to his police career, Iannucci had a distinguished 39-year career in the United States Air Force, retiring in 2018 at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7). As the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the 143rd Security Police Squadron, he was responsible for overseeing the training, deployment and readiness of the squadron in areas such as Air Base Ground Defense and Runway Denial. Iannucci also served as the point of contact and NCOIC for all dignitary visits, including those by world leaders and the President and Vice President of the United States. His Air Force career included extensive specialized training in areas such as security, special operations, field sobriety testing, military instruction, and more. Iannucci’s expertise spans a wide range of critical law enforcement and security topics, including Department of Homeland Security threat assessment, Army Corps of Engineers security engineering, FEMA incident command, anti-terrorism, strategic counter-terrorism for transit, critical infrastructure protection, behavioral recognition, and firearms instruction. He is also an active member of several professional organizations including the Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and others.
